How TeleSearch Verifies Telegram Creator Listings: The Process and the Numbers
Par TeleSearch Editorial Team · Publié · 18+ uniquement
Every TeleSearch listing is checked against its public t.me page before it goes live: the link must lead to a live, personal Telegram account (not a channel, group or bot), duplicates are refused, and doubtful submissions are held for manual review. As of 8 October 2026 the directory holds more than 700 approved listings. "Verified" means the link is a real personal account; it does not mean we hold the creator's ID.
We think a directory should be transparent about what its checks cover. This article walks through the process step by step, explains the labels you see on profiles, and publishes the numbers behind the directory. TeleSearch is for adults (18+) only and hosts no explicit content. The policy summary lives on how we verify.
Step 1: the link is read, not trusted
When a creator, an agency or our team submits a Telegram link, TeleSearch does not take it at face value. It extracts the username and builds the official t.me address from it itself, rather than following whatever link was pasted. If a submitted link is a redirect (a link-in-bio page, for example), it is followed only through a short, capped chain of safe web addresses, and only a destination on t.me or telegram.me counts.
Then the public t.me page is read. That page tells us whether the username exists and what kind of account it is.
Step 2: personal accounts only
Telegram links can lead to four different things: a person, a channel, a group or a bot (see personal account vs channel vs group). TeleSearch accepts only personal accounts.
The check is strict by design. A page showing subscribers is treated as a channel, members as a group, monthly users or a "Start" button as a bot. If Telegram's page layout is ambiguous, the link is refused rather than guessed. The cost of that rule is that a few genuine accounts may need a second attempt; the benefit is that fans never land in a broadcast channel or a bot when they expect a person.
Step 3: duplicates and doubtful cases
Each Telegram username can appear only once in the directory, so the same account cannot be listed twice under different names. Submissions that look doubtful (for example a profile that seems to copy another listing) are held for a person to review instead of going live automatically.
Step 4: adults only
TeleSearch is a directory for adults, about adults. Listings that state an age under 18 are flagged and kept off the directory. A report with an age concern is treated as severe: a listing that was auto-approved in the last 7 days goes back to pending after a single report.
Some listings come from partner agencies that manage creators. For those, the label "18+ confirmed by partner" means the partner told us it checked that the creator is an adult. We do not collect or hold ID documents ourselves, and we say so plainly rather than implying a check we do not perform.
Step 5: what is shown, and what is not
A listing shows a display name, a link, a non-explicit profile photo and a few details the creator or partner provided, such as languages and categories. Nothing from inside the Telegram account is copied, stored or shown. Profiles never include explicit images.
Step 6: re-checks, reports and removal
Telegram accounts change: usernames are renamed, accounts are deleted, and occasionally a personal account becomes a channel. Every link is checked when it is submitted. After that, if a link stops working, report it and the team reviews the listing and hides or removes it.
Anyone can act on a listing:
- Fans can report a listing that looks like a copy, behaves like a scam, or no longer works.
- Creators can request removal at any time, with no need to give a reason.
- Rights holders can use our DMCA process for photos used without permission.
The numbers, as of 8 October 2026
These figures come directly from the TeleSearch database on the date above. They change daily; the live totals are on the creator index and the facts page.
- More than 700 approved listings. Every one is a personal Telegram account that passed the checks above.
- Several dozen submissions pending review at any given time (88 on 8 October 2026).
- Almost all listings were added and reviewed by the TeleSearch team; only a very small number come from partner agencies.
- 4 languages stated across listings. English covers about 99% of them, followed by a handful in Spanish, French and Portuguese. Fewer than 1% of listings have no language stated.
- More than 40 categories in use across the directory, which you can browse on the categories page.
- Location data is mostly estimated. Most listings carry a country of origin, but only a very small number were declared by the creator; the rest are estimated by our tagging tool. Almost all of them are in the United States, so pages for other countries stay thin.
We publish these numbers, including the weak spots, because a directory that only shows flattering numbers is hard to trust.
What we are improving
The numbers above also show where the directory is still thin. Language data is now almost complete, but it shows that the directory is overwhelmingly English-speaking and United States-based, and most country data is estimated rather than declared. The next step is to ask creators for declared details at submission and to add more non-English creators, which would make browsing by language far more useful. As coverage grows, this article will be updated with new figures and a new "last updated" date, in line with our editorial policy.
What "verified" does not mean
A listing confirms a link, not a person. Specifically, TeleSearch does not:
- Prove who operates an account. Usernames can be sold or handed over, and impersonators exist.
- Check or vouch for the content a creator offers, or set any prices.
- Process payments or take a share of what fans pay creators.
- Guarantee that a creator will reply.
That is why we always recommend cross-checking a username on the creator's own long-standing profiles before paying anything. Our guide how to tell if a Telegram creator is real gives a checklist, and is it safe to pay creators on Telegram covers payments.
Why we chose these rules
Two principles shaped the process. First, fans should land in a one-to-one conversation with an account that exists, so personal-account-only is non-negotiable. Second, we only claim what we actually check. It would be easy to put a badge on every profile and call it "verified creator". It would also be misleading. Our editorial policy applies the same rule to everything we publish: no invented statistics, and corrections as soon as an error is reported.
Frequently asked questions
Does TeleSearch check creators' IDs?
No. We check that each link is a live personal Telegram account. For partner listings, the "18+ confirmed by partner" label means the partner confirmed the creator is an adult. We do not hold ID documents.
How many creators are listed on TeleSearch?
More than 700 approved listings as of 8 October 2026. See the creator index for the live count.
Why can't I find channels or groups on TeleSearch?
The directory lists personal accounts only, so fans can talk to creators directly. Channels, groups and bots are refused at submission.
What happens when a listed account stops working?
Tell us through the report page. The team reviews the listing and hides or removes it if it no longer leads to a live personal account.
How can a creator remove their listing?
Through the removal page, at any time and without giving a reason.
