- What makes a Telegram username valid?
- 5 to 32 characters, using only letters a-z, digits 0-9 and underscores. It must start with a letter, cannot end with an underscore and cannot contain two underscores in a row. Case does not matter.
- Does this tool tell me if a username is taken on Telegram?
- No. It checks the format and looks the name up in the TeleSearch directory only. It never queries Telegram. To see if a public page exists, use the Telegram Link Checker.
- What does listed on TeleSearch mean?
- That the username belongs to an approved listing in our directory of adult creators on personal Telegram accounts. The result links to that profile.
- Why do some shorter usernames exist?
- Some short collectible usernames are sold through Telegram's own auction platform and follow separate rules. Regular usernames start at 5 characters.
- Do you store what I type?
- No. The format check runs in your browser. The directory lookup is rate limited per visitor and the username is not saved.
